Culachy Wind Farm

Our Proposals

We are proposing to develop Culachy Wind Farm, which is located on the Culachy Estate, approximately 7.5km south of Fort Augustus.

We have been undertaking a range of consultation since early 2022 and the plans have been changed in response to feedback gathered locally, resulting in the number of turbines being reduced alongside the proposed height – minimising views from local villages and Loch Ness.

We submitted an application to the Scottish Government in December 2023, this can be viewed here

Our final plans

We are confident that our final proposals will sit well within the local landscape and that there will be minimal visibility from key local areas – including Loch Ness and Fort Augustus.

The plans that we have submitted include:

  • 8 turbines up to 200m high to tip
  • A 10MW battery storage facility
  • Turbine foundations and hardstandings
  • Onsite substation and control building
